Champions for Wildlife working with local students in after-school programs

Champions for Wildlife is back working with students in after-school programs throughout Polk County.

For the first session with students, Champions for Wildlife instructors taught a lesson on moths – what they are, how they are different from and similar to butterflies, and why they are important pollinators.

For the art portion of the program, students decorated seed packets with native seeds to take home. Students got to decorate multiple packets, choosing their favorite to take home with native pollinator seeds. The other decorated seed packets will be donated to the Gardening for Life event happening in March.
