Doing What's Right For Students

April 7, 2020

Hello, Polk Families and Community!  This is Aaron Greene with your April 7 update.  There is no new information in this call.  Dr. Schweitzer will be sending out a separate call to PCHS students tonight.

We thank you again for submitting your questions to us via the link on our COVID19 website.  As we receive more guidance on things like grading and promotion I will do my best to update the responses.  I do want to reiterate something I posted in those responses about signing up for internet service with a local provider.  Please make sure you understand what long-term commitment you are making if any if you do choose to connect.  Some folks are advertising free connection for two months but only if you sign up for a longer contract.  Just know what you are getting into before you agree.  If you have not seen the response document it is on our www.polkschools.org/coronavirus site under “Mr. Greene’s Answers”.

Today’s quote comes from Maya Angelou – “We may encounter many defeats, but we must not be defeated”.  Though we may go through difficult times and get knocked down, we must keep getting back up again to fight another day.  Keep rising Polk County.  Better days are ahead.
