Hello, Polk Families and Community! This is an automated message from Superintendent Aaron Greene with your March 19 update on COVID19 and our schools. I want to again thank everyone for their patience, understanding, and support of each other.
I want to make you aware that our teachers and staff will be reaching out by phone call to all our kids and families to conduct a brief wellness check. The calls may come from an unidentified caller number. When you answer, our staff will identify themselves. They will be asking you about access to food, if everyone is healthy, if your family needs anything, and if your student has internet access at home. Please let them know if you need anything, and thanks for taking the call.
I hope everyone knows about the FREE meals we are providing to all Polk County children in a drive-through format Monday through Friday from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm at all 4 elementary schools. If not, please visit www.polkschools.org/coronavirus for more details. We remind you to please go to the elementary school in your community to pick up meals as our middle and high schools will not be used as distribution sites.
We have also created a brief survey spot for parents to submit questions or concerns to us. It can be found on our COVID19 website under the link “Family/Community Questions and Concerns”. We will be posting responses on the same site so all can view. We will update the responses as we learn more.
Don’t forget to keep visiting our COVID19 website on polkschools.org for updates and access to resources like 211 and advice for talking to kids about this situation. I continue to be proud of our Polk Schools Family and the Polk County community as we work together to make it through this. Better days are ahead. Thank you.
