Updated Free/Reduced Lunch Applications

This is a message for families with students at Polk County High School, Polk County Early College, Polk County Middle School and Saluda Elementary School.

You may have seen information that additional EBT benefits are going to be provided during the COVID19 shutdown. We wanted to let you know that if you already receive EBT benefits you will be automatically receiving additional monies on your EBT card in the coming days or weeks. If your student receives free or reduced lunch but you have not received EBT benefits in the past you will receive an EBT card and benefits during this time. We understand the new cards will be mailed to your home address.

If your student has not qualified for Free or reduced lunch in the past but your circumstances have changed due to COVID 19 we strongly encourage you to fill out and submit a new free and reduced lunch application. If someone has lost their job, your household income has changed, or your family makeup is different we urge you to apply.

You can pick up these applications at our District Office at Stearns, 125 East Mills Street in Columbus, NC any time. There is a cabinet outside the entrance on the right side of the building labeled “School Supplies” and we will have Free and Reduced Lunch Applications in that cabinet starting tomorrow morning for you to pick up at your convenience. You can fill out those forms and return them to our offices at Stearns during regular business hours. There will be a drop box just inside the entrance door with a “Free and Reduced Lunch Application” label and you can leave your completed application in the box.

Application are also available online using the links below. The application will need to be printed, completed and returned to the District Office.
