“Old-school” approach lets Polk Central second graders chat from a distance

Students in Michelle Richardson’s second grade class at Polk Central Elementary have been learning a tried-and-true method of communicating with friends from a distance.

Each class member recently interviewed a friend by using string-and-cup telephones to ensure social distancing. The students asked questions about favorite foods, family members and favorite hobbies and activities.

The students enjoyed this “old-school” method of communication while practicing essential life skills at the same time.
