Outreach says thanks to Polk County Schools for recent food drives

Thank you, Polk County Schools!

Polk County Schools, students and its families have always been very supportive of Outreach and Polk County neighbors, and we are grateful for their efforts and generosity! This fall local schools and affiliated organizations hosted several food drives. Every can collected will be distributed to Polk County neighbors who shop in our food pantry this holiday season.

Polk County High School, led by the Interact Club, donated nearly 600 pounds of food; Polk County Hunter Skills Team collected food outside the IGA in Tryon one Saturday and delivered almost 200 pounds of food to Outreach; Sunny View Elementary School held their food drive in mid-November and collected just under 1,900 pounds of non-perishable food items.

WOW – we can’t thank you enough!!!
