Polk Central second graders write about life’s blessings

Taking time each day to think about life’s blessings – students in Megan McDaniel’s second grade class at Polk Central Elementary did just that during the month of November.

As part of their morning work routine, students were asked each day to write one thing for which they were thankful.

“I think it’s so important that we all get in the habit of practicing gratitude every day,” McDaniel said. “We truly have so much to be thankful for. It was really sweet hearing them come in first thing in the morning and say ‘Hmmmm, what am I thankful for today?’

“I think our world would be a better place if this was our mindset each day.”

Students also completed a “Thankful Challenge Wall,” of which they were extremely proud.
