Appalachia Christmas

Students in first grade at Saluda School learned about the history of Christmas in the Appalachian Mountains. With the help of Ms. Rogers and Ms. Searcy students sewed trees, strung fresh cranberry garland, and assembled buttons into the shape of trees. Additional ornaments were made in art class with Ms. Berryhill and by Elf Rogers in one of Santa’s satellite workshops. All of these traditionally styled decorations adorned the community (classroom) tree.
