Saluda Elementary’s first grade classes enjoyed an apple themed week! The Lawton family, owners of Upland Orchards, generously donated a bushel of apples that were used for the week. Students measured apples, graphed apples, experimented with apples, investigated different parts of apples and did countless other apple related activities that covered science, math and reading standards. Students enjoyed the hands on activities including the class favorite tasting apples! Last they created apple inspired artwork that will be entered into the 2023 NC Farm to School Calendar Contest.
