School Information
There will be several pages of information and forms coming home at the start of school. Please read them carefully and send the ones to be returned to school as quickly as possible. We send many notices and letters home to you during the school year, please stress to your child that these notices are important because they let parents know what is happening at school. We also have a phone system to call parents for school information. These are our main lines of communication with you. Please keep your address and phone numbers updated at the office. Call 828-894-1050 to make changes.
School Hours
School hours are 8:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. Parents who bring students to school should have students here by 7:55. Students eating school breakfast should be here by 7:45 in order to be ready to start work at 8:00. Students arriving in class after 8:00 will be considered tardy. Remember a parent/guardian needs to call the office to when bringing a student in late. Please have your child at school on time and ready to learn everyday.
Early Arrival
The school doors open at 7:30 a.m. Students who arrive before 7:45. will be directed to the cafeteria where a staff member will be on duty. Please do not drop your child off before 7:30 each morning.
Drop Off and Pick Up Procedure
The circle in front of the school is to be used to drop off and pick up students. When using this circle do not leave your car. Your child will come out and get into your car. Parents wishing to come to the sidewalk to pick up their child or drop off their child are asked to use the front parking lot. To ensure safety, students are always instructed to use the cross walk when going to the parking lot. Car riders from each building will be brought to the main lobby to meet their parents.
Lost and Found
When articles are found in the school building or on school property, they should be returned to the office where the lost and found department is maintained. Students who have lost articles may claim them upon identification. Please label your child’s items when possible to help us return lost items to their owner.
