The following communication tools will be used across all grades.

PowerSchool Parent/Student Portal

PowerSchool has a portal available for students & parents.  The portal allows parents and students to keep updated on schedules, grades, attendance, and recent messages.  Students will log onto the portal with their NCEdCloud account.  Parents will need to contact their child’s school to receive login information.

Remind

This is an app that can be used to help teachers and parents communicate.  After your child’s teacher creates here communication group, you will be invited to join.  Your cell phone will be the primary communication tool when using Remind.

Zoom

Polk County Schools has chosen Zoom as the tool for providing video access to instruction and meeting.  Students, parents, and employees can access Zoom from a computer, phone or tablet.

Polk County Schools will be using Clever to help students access online content.  Once students log onto Clever, they will have access to the following Instructional and Practice sites.

The following online tools & apps will be used in grades K-2.

ClassDojo

This will be the primary online classroom site for students in grades K-2.  ClassDoJo is a very interactive tool that allows teachers, students, and parents to communicate easily.  Teachers can make assignments in ClassDoJo and then share the assignment with students & parents.  Using ClassDoJo, students and parents can submit assignments as text, photos, or videos.  

Google Classroom

Google Classroom will be one of the Learning Management Systems available for students in grades 3-12.  Students and parents can access online content via the website or phone\tablet app.

Canvas

Canvas is a more robust Learning Management System that may be used in our upper grades.  Canvas allows teachers to create an online version of their course that can be accessed by students and parents on the website or via a phone\tablet app.  Students will access instructional material and complete assignments in Canvas.

Students enrolled in courses at Isothermal Community College will be using the following online tools.

Moodle

ICC requires that all online course content be delivered using Moodle.  Using the ICC Moodle, students can track grades and missing assignments.
