Vining fundraiser planned for March 30

A fundraiser for well-known local resident John Vining is planned for March 30 at Polk County High School.

The fundraiser will include lunch plates as well as the Polk County High School FFA selling plants in the school greenhouse.

Vining, known for his many years of service as Polk County Extension Director for the North Carolina Cooperative Extension Service, is currently battling liver cancer.

The fundraiser will run March 30 from 11 a.m. until 3:30 p.m. Lunch plates are $10 and either chicken or pork plates will be available.
