With the start of the new school year is just around the corner, Polk County Schools is rolling out the welcome mat for students and families across the district.
Here’s what’s happening at each school:
Elementary Schools: Meet the Teacher Night
Sunny View Elementary, Tryon Elementary, Saluda Elementary, and Polk Central Elementary will each host Meet the Teacher Night on Thursday, Aug. 6 from 4 to 6 p.m. Families are invited to visit classrooms, meet teachers and get a head start on the new school year.
Polk County Middle School: Meet the Teacher Night
Polk County Middle School will host its Meet the Teacher Night on Thursday, Aug. 6 from 5 to 7 p.m.
Polk County High School: Freshman Walk the Halls
Incoming freshmen at Polk County High School are invited to Walk the Halls on Thursday, Aug. 6 from 4 to 6 p.m. The event offers a great opportunity to find classrooms, meet teachers and get comfortable in the building before the first day.
Polk County Early College
Polk County Early College has a full slate of events to welcome its newest students:
- Freshmen & New Student Bridge Orientation runs daily on August 5-7 from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Designed to help incoming students transition with confidence, the orientation includes engaging activities that prepare students for success in advanced high school classes and college coursework. Lunch will be provided each day.
- PCEC Move-In Day for all students is August 6. Students may drop in anytime between 8 a.m. and 3 p.m. to set up and personalize their workstations for the year.
- New Student Parent Information Night will be held August 6 at 5:30 p.m. (approximately 40 minutes), giving parents and guardians of new students an introduction to PCEC, an overview of what to expect this year and practical strategies to support their student’s transition to Early College.
