Idioms find place in the sun during Tryon Elementary parade

The halls of Tryon Elementary School were filled with laughter and creativity on Friday as third grade students hosted their annual Idiom Parade.

As part of their language arts curriculum, students have been learning about idioms — phrases that don’t mean exactly what they say. To celebrate their understanding, each student selected an idiom and dressed up to represent its literal meaning, turning familiar sayings into eye-catching costumes.

Parents and fellow students lined the halls to watch the third graders proudly parade through the school, showcasing both their knowledge and imagination.
