In a heartwarming display of compassion and dedication, members of the Polk County High School Humane Society Club have successfully funded the treatment of another heartworm-positive dog, enabling his adoption into a loving home.
Damon, the rescued canine, received life-saving heartworm treatment funded by the student-led initiative. The club presented a $200 check to the Foothills Humane Society representative on Thursday, marking another successful chapter in its ongoing animal welfare mission.
The high school students worked through their lunch periods for two consecutive weeks to raise the funds needed for Damon’s treatment.
The PCHS Humane Society Club continues to exemplify youth engagement in local causes through its partnership with Foothills Humane Society, focusing on animal outreach and welfare initiatives that directly impact pets in Polk County.
