Two Polk County students earned top regional placements at the Western NCFFA Regional Truck and Tractor Career Development Event held Sept. 9 at the Mountain State Fair in Asheville.
Daniel Griffin placed third in the regional competition and second in the Pisgah View Federation standings. Essie Mitchell placed seventh in the region and third in the Pisgah View Federation.
Porter Langley served as an alternate for the Polk County team at the event.
The Truck and Tractor Career Development Event tests students’ knowledge and skills in agricultural equipment operation, maintenance and safety. Participants demonstrate understanding of equipment systems, troubleshooting procedures and industry best practices.
