Polk County High School agriculture teachers recognized for service

Polk County High School agricultural education teachers Ashley Gilbert and Chauncey Barber were recognized for their service to agricultural education during the North Carolina Career and Technical Education Conference, held July 13-17 in Winston-Salem.

The North Carolina Agriculture Teachers Association presented Gilbert with a 15-year service pin recognizing her work as an agriculture teacher in North Carolina. Gilbert began her career with one year in Wilkes County before joining Polk County Schools in 2012.

Barber was recognized for completing a two-year term as Western Region vice president of the North Carolina Agriculture Teachers Association.

The annual Career and Technical Education conference brings educators from across North Carolina together for professional learning and recognition in career and technical education programs.
