The Polk County High School Band earned multiple awards at its first competition of the season at the Cedar Cliffs Classic at A.C. Reynolds High School.
Competing in Class 2A, the band placed second overall in its classification and fourth overall among all 1A, 2A and 2AA bands at the competition.
The band earned first place in music among Class 2A bands and achieved the second-highest music score across all 1A, 2A and 2AA bands competing. The color guard and the percussion section each placed second in their respective categories. The drum major earned third place.
The band will compete next at the Chase High School competition on Saturday, Oct. 20 at 3:40 p.m.
