Polk County Schools students will receive free meals during 2025-26 academic year

Polk County Schools students will once again be able to enjoy free breakfast and lunch during the 2025-26 school year.

The district will be taking part in the Community Eligibility Provision of the National School Lunch program. Polk County Schools has participated in the program for each of the past two years.

Taking part in the CEP option provides the majority of funding for the free meals. Polk County Schools must still provide a substantial amount of funding, and the district would welcome any local business or individual that would like to contribute to the effort. Anyone interested in providing a donation may contact Superintendent Todd Murphy at 828-894-3051.

Menus can be accessed each week on the Child Nutrition website.

For questions or more information, contact Jennifer Peeler at 828-894-3051.
