Resources for Adulthood Fair set for April 17 at PCHS

Polk County High School students and their families will soon have access to a wealth of information about life after graduation at an upcoming community event.

The Exceptional Children’s Department at Polk County High School, in partnership with Polk County Department of Health and Human Services and VAYA Health, will host a Resources for Adulthood Fair on Thursday, April 17, from 4-6 p.m. at the high school.

Thirty vendors representing various support agencies from the area will be available to answer questions about post-high school resources. The event is open to all Polk County High School students and their families.

Attendees can enjoy complimentary pizza and drinks while entering for door prizes at this free community gathering.

The fair coincides with Polk County High School’s inaugural Kindness Week, an initiative spearheaded by the school’s SAGA cClub and Key Club. Throughout the week, students will participate in various activities designed to promote kindness, with visual reminders posted around campus offering ideas and strategies to foster a more compassionate community.

Funding for Kindness Week’s art supplies, activities, and gifts for teachers and students comes from grant money provided through the Polk Community Resource Collaborative and Vaya Health.
