Students at Saluda Elementary School recently participated in a weeklong celebration honoring Read Across America Week and Dr. Seuss’ birthday. The event featured a variety of engaging activities designed to promote literacy and foster a love of reading.
Throughout the week, students enjoyed themed dress-up days that connected to reading and imagination. The special days included wearing pajamas for a cozy reading experience, sporting crazy socks, donning wacky outfits, dressing as their future career aspirations and culminating with students transforming into their favorite book characters.
Principal Erica Stronach contributed to the festivities by visiting classrooms during the week, where she read Dr. Seuss books to students.
The celebration reached its peak on Friday with a character parade, where students showcased their literary-inspired costumes. Parents were invited to attend this special event, which served as the grand finale to the weeklong reading celebration.
