Second-grade students from Sunny View and Polk Central elementary schools discovered how their bodies work through hands-on exploration at the Catawba Science Center in Hickory on Thursday, April 24.
Students participated in an interactive classroom session focused on body systems and the connections within the human body. The hands-on approach allowed young learners to explore anatomical concepts through activities designed for their age level.
Beyond the classroom session, students explored the science center’s exhibits, engaging with hands-on activities that brought scientific concepts to life through interactive displays and demonstrations.
The field trip provided second-graders with opportunities to experience science learning outside the traditional classroom setting. The Catawba Science Center’s interactive approach helps elementary students develop curiosity about scientific topics while making abstract concepts concrete through tactile exploration.
