Polk County Schools has welcomed Laura Sprinkle as the new director of PEAK After School.
Sprinkle brings more than 20 years of professional experience in leadership, operations, employee development and community-focused service to the role.
Her previous work has included leading teams, managing operations and developing employees, experience she will now bring to PEAK as she works with staff, families, schools and community partners.
Sprinkle also has a personal connection to Polk County Schools. She lives in Columbus with her husband and two children, both of whom attend Tryon Elementary School.
That connection gives her a parent’s perspective as she begins leading a program that serves children and families across the district.
In her new role, Sprinkle plans to focus on creating safe, supportive and engaging after-school opportunities while strengthening the program’s staff and relationships with families and the community. She also hopes to continue growing PEAK and expanding the ways the program supports Polk County children.
