Second graders in Ginger Turner’s class at Sunny View Elementary School created a little rain of their own while learning about the water cycle.
During a “Rain in a Jar” experiment, students observed how water droplets collect in clouds and how precipitation occurs when those droplets become heavy enough to fall.
The hands-on activity gave students a visual model of a process they see in the world around them, helping connect classroom learning about the water cycle with the formation of rain.
