Fourth-grade students in J.J. Waddell’s class at Tryon Elementary School are conducting hands-on experiments to learn about electrical circuits and various power sources as part of their science curriculum.
The laboratory-based instruction allows students to explore different types of circuits while experimenting with multiple methods of powering electrical systems. Students gain practical understanding of how electrical current flows through closed circuit pathways.
The hands-on approach to circuit study supports elementary science standards that emphasize inquiry-based learning and scientific investigation. Students develop observation skills while exploring fundamental concepts in electrical engineering and physics.
